This Is How Our Story Began
In 2015, Camille Friend started to make time in her busy schedule to teach master classes in wig work. She found that certain skills were lacking in many hairstylist's repertoire and was having to teach these skills while in the trailer. It was then that Hair Scholars was created. The mission of Hair Scholars is to provide up-and-coming artists the mentorship, guidance and skills they need to seize film and tv opportunities and achieve excellence.
Designed for the professional hairstylist who wants to work in entertainment, Hair Scholars offers master classes and mentorship programs focused on specialty skills needed for the film and TV business as well as giving a behind-the-scenes look at the role of the hairstylist/makeup artist on a set.
Camille has over 20 years of experience in the entertainment industry and has served as head of the hair department on an impressive list of films including Black Panther, Tenet, Charlie's Angels, Captain America: Civil War and The Winter Soldier, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay - Parts 1 and 2, Django Unchained and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, just to name a few.
A member of the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Camille has proven her talents throughout Hollywood soundstages making her in-demand by producers, directors and actors.
Now she is sharing her expertise with new and salon experienced professional stylists to promote confidence, commitment and integrity in the business.
